Back to School Applauses
Now, before I share some of my favorite applauses with you, keep in mind that they are only as effective as the person using them. What I mean is, if you aren’t enthusiastic about using them, your students won’t get excited either. So, when you go back to school, make it a point to focus on your energy and enthusiasm. After all, showing excitement really is contagious. tart out with some you really like and feel it! Another thing to keep in mind is, you know your kids and you know human nature. Don’t we all get bored with something that is used over and over and over? Well, applauses are no different. So, read your kids well and know when it’s time to add some variety.
Pick and choose what you’d like to start out with and give it all you’ve got. Feel it, baby! Another thing to keep in mind is, you know your kids and you know human nature. Don’t we all get bored with something that is used over and over and over? Well, applauses are no different. So, read your kids well and know when it’s time to add some variety. Back to school, and all year long, you and your students will have a fun time as you change up the applauses in your classroom.
Okay, whew! Glad we got that out of the way.
12 Back to School Applauses to Celebrate Your Students
Back to School Applause #1 – FANTASTIC Spray
‘F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C Spray’ has always been a hit in my own classroom, as well as with other teachers’ students. It’s fun, and the students love pretending to spray and wipe!
Back to School Applause #2 – Mirror, Mirror, Looking Good!
How can you live without the silly and fun ‘Mirror, Mirror, Looking Good!‘ applause. Kids love these and are pretty entertaining to watch, too.
Back to School Applause #3 – …And the Crowd Goes….WILD!
This simple, yet fun applause, is one of my absolute favorites. For some reason, students LOVE the quiet applause, ‘And the crowd goes…..WILD!’
Back to School Applause #4 – Truck Driver
Who doesn’t love to make a truck driver honk their 18-wheeler’s horn?! Let’s pull down the horn, then talk into the CB radio and give a great big “Good job, good buddy!”
